Last night Core Five had the pleasure of attending an inspiring and innovative seminar on 7D BIM modelling delivered by our colleagues Cartwright Pickard Architects. This was based around how the use of 7D BIM modelling can help achieve a project’s sustainability goals, hitting an intersection of two topics very close to our hearts.
Over 40% of the UK’s annual carbon emissions are attributable to construction related activity. 7D BIM modelling provides a tool that proactively facilitates a digital environment that can help reduce these emissions and the global effect on our planet. As experts in measurement on some of the industry’s most exciting buildings, we at Core Five whole-heartedly support and advocate the use and implementation of BIM. We are very aware of the many benefits this can afford to our clients in construction and capital expenditure, and it was great to discuss the longer term benefits it can provide to our global environment.
The presentation and discussion certainly reinforced our commitment on these issues at Core Five, currently being steered by our Foresight and BIM Working Groups. Many thanks to Cartwright Pickard Architects for such a thought provoking session.
