Having operated as a Net Zero Carbon Firm since 2019, we are pleased to confirm that our journey with Alectro continues as we have recently completed our 4th annual assessment!
By offsetting our 2022 emissions of 248 tCO2e, we have been able to support two fantastic charitable projects, that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:
- Renewable Power Project by Emami Power LTD, India – The project aims to produce clean electricity using solar energy as a renewable source. Emami Power Ltd is leading this initiative, which involves installing a 20 MW AC (22.5 MWp DC) solar power project in several villages, including Udelhedi, Naharpur, Mannakhedi, Kumrada, in the Haridwar district of Roorkee Tehsil. By doing so, the project will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 32,412 tCO2e per year and displace 31,689 MWh/year of electricity generated by thermal/fossil fuel-based power plants connected to the grid.
- Promotion of Clean Cooking Solutions for the Disadvantage Households, Nepal – The project aims to promote improved cooking stoves (ICS) among socially deprived communities, specifically targeting Dalits and Janajatis. It seeks to provide clean cooking solutions to households by replacing inefficient traditional cooking stoves with more efficient ones. This transition will reduce indoor air pollution, benefiting family members, particularly women, and leading to savings in health-related expenses. Each stove distributed through the project has the potential to reduce firewood consumption by half.
We are also proud members of the UN Climate Neutral Now initiative and our achievements this year have been measured against their categories of Measure, Reduce & Contribute for which we are delighted to be awarded the levels of Gold, Silver, and Gold respectively.
