Reflecting on the busy few days of events and conversations we had at Cannes, we came away with a sense of encouragement, seeing a noticeable lift in confidence in the construction industry about what 2026 might bring.
Some of the key points for us are:
š¢ Even with the ongoing geopolitical noise, thereās a growing sense that the industry is getting better at building longāterm resilience into its plans, and thereās real hope that planning reform could finally start to shift some longāstanding barriers.
šļøThere was also a feeling that Tier 1 contractors may have more capacity next year, which is great news for schemes ready to move.
š¬ Sectors like life sciences, student housing, and data centres continue to stand out, while the residential market is still working through challenges despite increased government support.
ā© It was also positive to hear that several major projects across Greater London look like theyāre finally preparing to move forward.
All in all, a really energising week made even better by the fantastic atmosphere!
