We are delighted to be working with Coventry University on the refurbishment of their Institute for Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering. The project includes the refurbishment of an existing building to create new laboratories, research facilities, kitchen and toilet provision with refurbished office and teaching spaces. A new link between the two buildings has also been created for ease of circulation. External works include roof replacement, drainage and schedule of maintenance repairs.
The scheme includes the refurbishment of existing technical space and the coordination of interfaces with complex machinery. The project is being delivered in an operational environment.
We were appointed to renegotiate the tender with the main contractor. Working with design team to fully understand and clarify tender / contract documentation and any changes, we ensured that the agreed contract was clear in terms of design, programme, cost and contract.
The contract was successfully negotiated within the Client’s budget. We supported the compilation of contract documentation to ensure that all deliverables were adequately captured which allowed the project to proceed with confidence.
The project was negotiated during the Covid-19 pandemic where cost uncertainty was prevalent; our approach ensured market driven deadlines were achieved and risk allocated and bought appropriately.
