Say hello to our Apprentices! To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, we sat down with our brilliant Apprentices to hear first-hand what it’s like to kick‑start a career at Core Five.
Check out what they had to say below!
Why did you choose to do an Apprenticeship with Core Five?
Isobel Somers: “I chose an apprenticeship with Core Five because it offers real hands‑on experience, strong support, and a clear path to developing my skills in a professional environment. I was also drawn to Core Five’s commitment to personal development and long‑term career growth.”
Samuel Cork: “I chose an apprenticeship with Core Five because of its strong reputation and the chance to gain real hands‑on experience. Core Five stood out to me for its supportive environment and its clear focus on developing people.”
How did you find out about Core Five’s Apprenticeship Scheme?
Oliver Norman: “I first heard about Core Five’s apprenticeship scheme through people already working in the industry. The more I learned about the industry‑leading projects they’re involved in and the level of support they give their apprentices, the more certain I became that this was the ideal place to begin my career.”
Zen Sahi: “I first learned about Core Five through Construction Youth Trust, which gave me the opportunity to complete work experience with the team on a prestigious City of London project. Thanks to Core Five’s apprenticeship scheme, I now get to continue developing my skills while working on a range of exciting projects!”
What’s the best part of doing an Apprenticeship?
Tarran Singh: “The best part of an apprenticeship is gaining real industry experience while continuing to learn. I particularly benefit from learning directly from experienced professionals and forming strong industry relationships that support long‑term career growth.”
Colm Shepherd: “The best part of an apprenticeship is being able to learn while working toward a qualification, all with the support of people who’ve taken a similar path. Gaining practical experience alongside guidance from those who’ve been there makes the journey both reassuring and rewarding.”
Would you recommend this route to people leaving school? Why?
Bradley Scroggie: “I’d highly recommend this route to anyone leaving school. The opportunities to learn, grow, and shape your career are constant and so much of your progress is in your own hands. If you’re motivated you can really make your future your own.”
Laura O’Leary-Jones: “I highly recommend this route because it offers a more well‑rounded way to learn. Education doesn’t have to follow a strict path of school, university, and then work with little real experience. Being in a real working environment helps you build skills, confidence, and understanding.”
