A new build 12,500 seat Arena and an International Conference Centre (ICC), adjacent to the existing Sage Gateshead. Facing the River Tyne, the buildings cleverly deal with the rising topography away from the river. The Enabling Works contract includes, but is not limited to, grouting of former mines and outfall sewer works (part of which was completed in late 2021). In addition to the enabling works and Main Contract works, the project also comprises public highways improvements (S278 works) and an impressive landscaping design across the site.
