Moreover, it proudly claims its place among London’s notable achievements, being one of only two BREEAM Outstanding buildings completed in 2022.
- Through its meticulous refurbishment, 280 Bishopsgate has effectively preserved the existing structural frame and an impressive 75% of the original façade, resulting in a reduction of 24,000+ tonnes of CO2 when compared to constructing a completely new building. Putting this into perspective it is the equivalent of the 120 acres of deforestation or the emissions produced by 5,300 cars driven for one year.
- The attainment of WiredScore Platinum certification signifies the building’s achievement of the highest level of connectivity standards. It indirectly contributes to sustainability through energy-efficient network infrastructure, supporting remote work and reduced commuting, promoting smart building integration, and enabling sustainable practices through efficient digital communication and collaboration.
- As an integral component of achieving WELL Platinum certification, the design of 280 Bishopsgate was dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of its occupants. Emphasizing the importance of indoor air quality, the design incorporated various measures such as advanced air quality monitoring systems and the use of air purifying surface finishes.
