As an Associate in the London team, I work across a range of sectors with a strong focus on residential and commercial developments in the London Market.
A key aspect of my role involves working closely with Clients and other key stakeholders to clearly define key requirements and how they can be achieved, ultimately leading to the successful delivery of the project. I strive to be detailed, diligent and pragmatic in my approach whilst keeping clear lines of communication directly with the Client and Design team.
I have close to a decade of experience in the London construction market and have worked on a wide range of complex projects from heavy commercial cut & carves to bespoke prime residential projects. Having worked for Core Five for seven years, I gained invaluable experience on large commercial and residential new build projects working within a strong, well established, team.
What do you think is the biggest opportunity for our industry in the next 10 years?
Our approach to sustainability as an industry in the next decade will be crucial in defining this period of construction as a success or failure. If we can re-design and repurpose existing building stock well, we can truly lead the way to decarbonisation within the UK. Us as cost consultants have a huge part to play, not only in the quantification of carbon, but in the costings of new green technologies and approaches. We can steer projects positively with our experience and be in a position in 10 years where we have made a real impact on the UKs decarbonisation goals.
What is your favourite building and why?
I first saw Medina House on a weekend away in Hove. Its design and position impressed me, especially the Dutch gable with and curved corbeled recesses. Although the building was new in every sense, Pilbrow and Partners managed to design a building that was in many ways empathetic to the original design.
