Harvey recently joined the Core Five team in Birmingham, having previously worked for 3 years with a main contractor.
He is currently undertaking his part-time BSc Quantity Surveying degree apprenticeship and has enrolled onto Core Five’s structured APC training programme ‘Core Foundations’ where hands-on knowledge and experience provides first-class support in gaining RICS accreditation.
How did you get into industry?
My father has always worked in construction therefore I grew up hearing about the fast-paced, ever-changing industry. I have always been fascinated with the history of the built environment and wanted to play a part in its future.
What is your proudest moment at Core Five / biggest achievement and why?
Although I haven’t been a part of the Core Five team for long, from my first day I have been immensely proud to work in a team that strives to deliver the best service possible to our new and existing Clients.
What piece of advice would you give to somebody starting in the industry?
If you are unsure about something, don’t be afraid to ask questions. It is important to be part of a team that encourages you to ask questions and one that cultivates a culture of learning. The more questions you ask, the more you will learn.
